Protecting a machine involves making it trigger by high frequency vibration to avoid going as far as causing a breakage. The protection system therefore has to be robust, insensitive to interference or other disruptions. It has to measure and process the signal of each channel in real time (no scanning of the channels). Crossing the thresholds triggers a relay.

In some cases, the triggering threshold is subject to process data, in order to adapt the threshold to the operating conditions.

The indicators to be monitored are generally overall indicators, but they can also trigger with vibrations linked to the rotating frequency (flat strip indicator set again to the speed).

A protection system can be coupled to a process PC which will store the indicators measured in order to monitor developments and be able to better track the causes of the triggerings.
